2017 Impact Video & Holiday Note from Gary

My Friends,

Stories play an important role in our lives. When we share our experiences both painful and hopeful, we deepen our empathy for one another.

This holiday season, the Gary Sinise Foundation has asked some of the folks we’ve helped to share their stories. I find it remarkable that time and again love is at the core. Love of country. Love of family. Love of their brothers and sisters in arms. The power of that emotion has driven these individuals to serve something greater than themselves and to find strength beyond their own measure.

What is important to remember, however, is that these are just a few of many. Even though a tiny fraction of our population volunteers to serve, that means millions of people are sacrificing on our behalf.

Americans are at our best during the holidays. We become our most reflective and compassionate selves. So in this special season, I hope you’ll take a moment to remember the heroes of our nation. Think about your own loved ones and how they enrich your life with warmth and meaning. Also remember how difficult it must be for our defenders to be separated from their families, to sacrifice day in and day out, in defense of all of us.

With your help, the Gary Sinise Foundation serves and honors these individuals and their loved ones 365 days a year. You are an essential component to that tireless mission. I hope we can count on your support once again.
