Gary Sinise Foundation Grant Helps Boston Fire Department Mitigate Occupational Cancer
August 26th, 2020
In an effort to mitigate exposure to occupational cancer, the Gary Sinise Foundation recently funded the Boston Firefighters Burn Foundation with a grant to purchase and install 10 washing machines and 32 drying cabinets at firehouses around the city. Since 2016, the foundation has provided personal protective equipment grants to the Boston Firefighters Burn Foundation.
The grant follows another made earlier this year in support of Boston firefighters. At the outset of COVID-19, the foundation funded the Boston Firefighters Burn Foundation through its Emergency COVID-19 Combat Service campaign, for the purchase of 33 hand decontamination systems for each firehouse in the city.
