Gary Sinise Foundation Funds Service Dog for Wounded Iraq Veteran
October 31st, 2022
Through the Gary Sinise Foundation H.O.P.E. initiative, and thanks to the continued generosity of all of YOU, our incredible supporters, we were able to provide Robert Sanders, a combat veteran of the Iraq War, with the funds necessary to get a new service dog!
"Thank you sooooo very much!" said Sanders. "This means A LOT to my family and me. Please thank Gary for me as well. I cried when you told me that the foundation was picking up the whole tab. I can't express my gratitude enough!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. I know this is going to be a fantastic addition to our family and will help me out immensely!"
The dog was delivered to Robert and his family on October 19 by his trainer, Chris Bagley of Keal K9. Robert's new service dog will help him with the daily challenges he faces due to his injuries by helping retrieve dropped items, and it's also trained for stress reduction/elimination for PTS. We sincerely hope this amazing story and photos warm your heart and brighten your day as much as they already have for all of us here at the Foundation.
Our H.O.P.E. initiative provides complete support to those who have experienced trauma, illness, injury, or loss during their times of urgent need, sometimes with assistance as simple as help paying bills or buying groceries. CLICK HERE to learn more and DONATE TODAY!
