A Truly Magical Final Day at Snowball Express 2022

This past week was a memorable one for the Gary Sinise Foundation at Snowball Express 2022. For the first time since 2019, we were able to host families of fallen military heroes for five days of healing and pure joy at our annual Disney in December event. Over 1800 family members, mostly children with their surviving parent/caregiver, joined us at The Most Magical Place on Earth, Walt Disney World, in Orlando, Florida. As part of the GSF Snowball Express Program, this annual event included so many magical moments, many tears, and, most of all, remembrance as we were able to uplight these families during what is often the most difficult time of year. Below are a few of our favorite highlights from the final day of Snowball Express 2022!
The Walk of Gratitude began down Main Street, USA, heading towards Cinderella’s Castle as Disney cast members lined the street, greeting them with a hero's welcome.
After the Walk of Gratitude, families entered Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom, where they began their amazing park day of fun!
Families of the Fallen were greeted by members of the Patriot Guard Riders who lined the red carpet as families entered the concert venue in EPCOT. When entering the venue, families walked through the snow!
Families of the Fallen were then treated to a legendary Lt. Dan Band concert held at EPCOT, where there was endless dancing, hugs, and smiles as far as the eye could see!
At the conclusion of the concert, families watched a special message from "Uncle Gary" before heading to a viewing area around EPCOT’s World Showcase Lagoon. Here, families watched the epic Epcot firework show “Harmonious!”
