Messages from Mac's GSF Family
Working alongside my brother-in-law and serving in his family's beautiful mission has been one of the biggest blessings of my life. Mac had a passion to bridge the gap between our nation's defenders and civilian communities, ensuring that Americans know the sacrifices our nation's defenders and their families make to keep us safe. Mac was a man of faith, truly humble, thoughtful and caring. There are no words to describe how missed he will be, but we are forever filled with gratitude for the precious time we had with him.
Mac was truly a special guy. His warrior spirit, commitment to faith, and his family was an inspiration to me. The way he lived his life forever changed mine as a child of God, husband, father, and friend. Thank you for all you blessed us with in your time here, Mac. You live on in each and every one of us.
Mac was a man of incredible compassion, witty humor, and endless empathy. He found his joy and purpose in our mission, in honoring our nation's heroes and their families. Even when he could no longer physically make it to the office, he was always trying to find a way to “do a little more.” I know he continues to serve alongside us, just beyond the veil. I will miss him and our deep conversations about everything till the end of my days. Heaven welcomed one of our very best.
We met Mac when he was 11 years old at Epcot in Walt Disney World, when his Dad was narrating the Candlelight Christmas show we perform in. We bonded right away through our passion for percussion. It was a thrill to watch him grow as a musician and person and we supported him as the substitute drummer for the Lt. Dan Band, a task that he fully embraced. We so admired his positive, inspiring spirit even through the devastating illness. We love you Mac and your spirit will live with us forever.
Mac was extraordinarily kind and introspective, always deeply pondering something. I rarely had a conversation with him that didn't wander down several paths that encouraged me to take pause, explore a thought, or reflect upon an idea. He thrived doing the work of the Foundation and fueled our mission with new ideas to ensure we were always creating and trying new things. I am incredibly grateful for the time I was able to spend with Mac over the years and was honored to be able to call him a friend. To know Mac was to know one of the best people life has to offer.

These words touched me deeply. I think that my brother Jordan would have really liked to know Mac. They were both brave fighters. Jordan passed away in 2012 after a 3-year battle with cancer. So much about Mac's story reminds me of the days we fought together. My best wishes to the family.
Not enough room to state my feelings regarding the Senise family and all they do. In short im sorry for your loss. Happy Mac was able to reach his goal. Thanful to the family for supporting those needing help
Hello Gary. I had a nephew, Jason LaFlame who passed away from cancer last year in May. His parents, my sister Janice and husband Paul, a retired Air Force Weapons Chief lost their only child. I found your story comforting. Thank you for sharing.
Mac, is simply amazing. Thank you for sharing so very much!!!!!
Quick note: I met Gary in The Netherlands in 2005(?). Wonderful man. He does wonderful work. I see stories once in a while where it reminds me to donate to his foundation. I've been busy caring for my cancer sickened (now deceased) wife. I just read "Mac's" story. I am so sorry. Love 2 U.
Heaven now has another angel that has more than earned his wings during his time on earth. May God bless you all in the loss of your beautiful son.
Gary, You are a good Person No politics Think of others and their suffering first RESPECT.
Gary, my heart breaks for you and your family. There is no greater pain than losing a child. I know this pain from my own experiences. God blessed me with three sons, unfortunately I have had to bury all three. My first son died at birth, my second at 18 in a car crash and my third when he was 34.
Gary, I am a faithful CSI New York fan. I learned that you had lost your beloved son. My healing thoughts go out to your family. I also lost a child unexpectedly when she was 35. It is definitely devastating. Faith helps us. Your son was a very great, giving human being. My prayers are with you all.
My heart is breaking for you and your wonderful family. He chose you to be his family for a reason. He knew you would be able to get the message out about this rare cancer. God Bless you all xx 🙏
To the Sinise family, I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful son Mac. I lost my son Taylor 3-17-24. I understand the loss that words can’t truly capture the magnitude of pain, loss and love we carry. Thank you for sharing your son Mac’s story with us. With respect.
Dear Sinise family, Gary's tribute brought me to tears. I know he is a great actor, but now I see he also has a great family and faith. It brings me such joy to see the goodness of people, even with all the major struggles. I lost my mom to cancer in 21. God bless your family.
My husband (also Gary) a NYS Trooper met Gary years ago (at 9-11). We saw him in passing years later near the G-0 site. He’s a truly genuine human, and this latest interview really solidified that for me. Our hearts feel his (& his family’s) loss of Mac.
I've use to watch Gary on TV and I've recently watched a interview about Mac. For me was something curious because Mac was the detective's name on CSI:NY and from now I can only see as a homage to this soldier who battle for his life. Truly inspirational his story. Big hug from Rio, Brazil!
Thank you for the music, Mac. That was so moving. It reflects your beautiful soul. Thinking of you today.
Mac died too young. He had a remarkable talent and I have every one of his songs in my favorite playlist. Rest in peace ❤️
Such a profound story, may God bless you all and hold you in love and prayers, always ❤️
I recently watched an interview Gary did about Mac’s journey. It is raw, moving, and inspiring. Gary said they were a team. There’s something about that statement that resonated with me. You two are still a team because the work and the music lives on. Sending a virtual hug to Gary and his family.
I was on YouTube and watched an interview Gary Sinise did regarding his acting career, his son's illness and his outreach. My father died of cancer. I cried. I sympathized. I prayed for the family. My thoughts are with you all. ❤️
Jan 2024 I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer that thru Grace of God I Won, celebrating this month 1 year since my Whipple Surgery and Building Guitars for Charity's as Donations. We should talk about me gifting foundation with instrument
To Gary and family - I've followed Gary's career, and have enjoyed all his roles as genuine. I thought Gary's Lt. Dan role was outstanding. So sad for your loss. Please heal and preserve only the happy memories of Mac. Gary's contributions and those of his family are American treasures.
As a person who has known Cancer personally twice, lost my dearest husband and precious mother to it eighteen days apart in the same year, your story of Mac meant so much to me. Your son was truly special and I am so very sorry you lost such a beautiful soul too soon.
Dear Mr Sinise the words you use to describe your family and Mac are extra-ordinary. I am touched by the strength some humans have as your magic son. Forgive my imperfect English. I wish you and your wife beautiful dreams in your nights and to keep on as you are as you are very special to each of us
I myself am battling stage 4 colon cancer at the age of 43. I am so sorry for your loss of dear Mac. I heard Artic Circles and the emotion in that music is beautiful. When I am weak I will listen to it and think of how strong Mac was. Maybe it will help me feel stronger.
Thank you for your courage in sharing Mac's story and your grief journey. Your openness brings comfort & hope to so many of us walking the same path. Hearing you speak about Mac reminds us that we are not alone. Having a space to share and be understood means more than words can express. Thank you
Dear Sinise Family, I wanted to send my condolences to you, since I just learned of your loss. You are a remarkable family and give so much love to the community and veterans. Mac is a beautiful child. So sorry for your struggles, it really brought me to tears. Regards, Barresi Family
Having just read your “Tribute to Mac” I noted what a wonderful boy he was and an inspiration to those who take a moment and reflect all that can be done with a life. I listened to his album on YouTube, just so beautiful and peaceful. My condolences to your and family.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your son, Mac. My heart goes out to you and your family. My best friend and her husband lost their only son, Noah, when he was fighting in Iraq. They wrote a book about him called Simply American. Their names are Lucy and Rick Harris. I’m praying for God to comfort you.
Oh man. His song I got to listen to the first one so far Arctic circles took my breath away how talented he is. Can’t wait to meet you, Mac there’s no doubt your composing for our Lord Jesus Christ, how beautiful and talented you are and one great drummer I love it all this should be put on CDs too!
So very sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Family- Thanks you for sharing your experiences with navigating the cancer with Mac. My brother Edward Tico, had a rare cancer and his fight for life was an inspiration to our family and friends. He lost the fight, but what he gave us lives forever. Bless them both and bless your family!
AMAZING FAMILY. GOD's BLESSINGS
What an amazing family—you are an example to so many of loving, faithful devotion to each other in good times and in bad times. Mac lives on through his musical gifts! May the Lord bless all of you
The Good Lord has prepared a place for each one of us. Our goal is to get there. No doubt Mac lived a life with that goal in mind. I believe he made it to his prepared place and is rejoicing.
Words can not say enough about how your son is an inspiration. I read the story and was amazed at how strong he was, but realizing he inherited that trait from you. Be proud and my prayers will be with you and your family!
Cancer was a visitor at our door more than most and that has placed us in kindred spirits of sorts. My father, A WWII Veteran, passed from Melanoma before a cure was forged by our cousin, President Carter. My sister survived Breast cancer that went into her bones and beat that into remission. Heroes
Greetings from Poland. All Family did very good job. He was unusual. God Bless.

I only discovered of your loss tonight and the story of your beautiful son’s passing. Thank you for the vision of this foundation and the love for your son.
Well Mac has taught us that it’s not really how long that you live, but how you live. He had such a gentle spirit and suffered greatly, but seemed to rise above it. God bless this dear young man, and I know the dear Lord has him writing and creating music in Heaven.
You are the epitome of what a “Grateful American” truly is. How you have gone through your life’s trials and tribulations with such grace is awe inspiring. My heart is broken and yet full after hearing about Mac.
I just came across a People interview. I grieve with you. As a mother of two sons, I cannot begin to understand your pain but I am here, praying for you and your family. Thank you for sharing Mac's story. Love and light. <3
So very sorry for your loose, can't even imagine losing a child. I also want to thank you for sending the WWII vets and a companion to the 75th & 80th Anniversary of D-Day. I attended both celebrations with the Museum, so very appreciated!
