Benjamin Mathews

Benjamin Mathews is the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for SkillStorm Commercial Services, LLC, joining the company in January 2020. Prior to joining SkillStorm, Ben served as Assistant General Counsel for TopBuild Corp., a leading installer and distributor of insulation and building material products in the United States. Ben also served in the legal departments of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, U.S. Dept. of Labor, and a large, national law firm in Pittsburgh, PA litigating complex commercial matters.  

Ben enlisted in the Army on December 27, 1993, and served on active duty in the medical corps for 9 years. Ben commissioned in the Air Force Reserve Judge Advocate General Corps in 2011 and is currently a Major assigned as an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate to Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command (HQ AFRC). In this capacity Ben provides legal advice for civil, operational, and military justice issues for HQ AFRC, 2 Direct Reporting units, 3 Numbered Air Forces, and 39 flying Wings. Ben has deployed twice and earned several decorations including the Meritorious Service Medal (with oak leaf cluster), Air Force Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Expert Field Medical Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.

Ben graduated from Duquesne University School of Law with a juris doctorate degree and Robert Morris University with a bachelor's degree in Economics.
