Bernadette Walsh

Bernadette Walsh comes from long line of family members who served in every decade, including her father who served in WWII. The youngest of seven children, three of her five older brothers served Armed Forces. Inspired by their service, Bernadette served in the United States Marine Corps before being medically discharged in 1996.
Following her time in service, Bernadette pursued a career helping active-duty members, National Guard, reservists, veterans, and their families. Today, she works for the United States Department of Labor/Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) as the Deputy Regional Administrator for the Atlanta region.
In her current role with VETS, Bernadette oversees employment and reemployment services, as well as the agency’s Jobs for Veteran’s state grant and the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program grant. Throughout her time with VETS, she has partnered with non-profits, state agencies, and other federal partners to support service members, veterans, and their spouses. After 31+ years of federal service, she plans to retire at the end of 2025.
