Richard T.

was in Connecticut on 9/11/01.

We live about 90 miles north of NYC in Connecticut. I worked 2nd shift so I was home. Had the radio on and the announcer said a plane had hit one of the towers. I turned on the TV and watched in shock for the next several hours. I kept stepping outside to see a beautiful blue sky all day. It was very confusing and sad.

A generation of Americans has no memory of 9/11. Stories like Richard's help them remember.

At the Gary Sinise Foundation, we're preserving the stories of those who experienced it so they can be shared with generations to come. We must never forget the pain we endured, the heroism we witnessed, or the togetherness we felt.
