During the 9/11 attack I was sitting in my class at the United States Army War College in Carlisle, PA. An officer came into our class and said an airplane hit the Towers. We turned the TV on and watched for a short time thinking it was an accident of some sort. After the second plane hit - as a class we believed then we would be going to war.
At the Gary Sinise Foundation, we're preserving the stories of those who experienced it so they can be shared with generations to come. We must never forget the pain we endured, the heroism we witnessed, or the togetherness we felt.
