Judy G.

was in Lemont, IL on 9/11/01.

I was at Lemont, IL high school when I heard the horrific news of the attacks on the twin towers at 8:15 Chicago time. We all were herded into the library to see the horror. We all became quiet, wondering about our loved ones all over the country. Later in the month, Humanities made an 18" x 18" square for the 9-11 memory quilt.

A generation of Americans has no memory of 9/11. Stories like Judy's help them remember.

At the Gary Sinise Foundation, we're preserving the stories of those who experienced it so they can be shared with generations to come. We must never forget the pain we endured, the heroism we witnessed, or the togetherness we felt.
