I was doing escort duty for a contractor at the Dept of Energy Facility in Germantown Md . I did not see the first plane hit so I thought it was a small plane. We went to break and went to our room and that is when we saw the 2nd plane hit and knew there was something else going on .Since I was a emergency essential person I had to stay until my shift was over when everyone else was excused after the Pentagon was attacked . On my way home to my condo in Alexandria, Va. I-495 was like a ghost town . The only vehicles on there was emergency ones besides myself . It was a weird feeling indeed because the interstate was always busy but not on that fateful day
