I was a customs inspector assigned to the O'Hare airport. Saw the news report about the first plane then was called to our daily meeting. One of the other inspectors interrupted our meeting to inform us about the second plan. Chief stood up and said, "We are under attack."
At the Gary Sinise Foundation, we're preserving the stories of those who experienced it so they can be shared with generations to come. We must never forget the pain we endured, the heroism we witnessed, or the togetherness we felt.
