Kim is married to General (Ret) Robin Rand, United States Air Force, and has dedicated her entire adult life to serving military members and their families. She is the daughter to a loving mother and Navy Korean War veteran and career fire fighter father in Colorado Spring, Colorado; mother to two children Brook and Bryson; and grandmother to three grandchildren, Eli, Luke, and Evie Joy.
Kim married then 2nd Lt Robin Rand immediately following his graduation from the United States Air Force Academy in June 1979. For the past 39 years, she has supported her husband and family through 27 different duty assignments across the United States and overseas.
During this period, Kim has served as an advocate for military veterans and their families in a variety of ways; to include countless hours mentoring young spouses, volunteer work at the Walter Reed Mologne House for wounded warriors and their care givers; volunteer work at military base thrift shops and Family Support Centers; lead coordinator for the collection and delivery of thousands of holiday CARE packages to deployed warriors; chairperson for the Air Force Charity Ball Silent Auction; lead hostess and mentor for various incoming commander and spouse leadership course attendees; and volunteer at numerous Gary Sinise Foundation Soaring Valor events.
Kim is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to help support the Gary Sinise Foundation mission of honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, families and those in need.
