Dan Murray has been with the Gary Sinise Foundation since 2015. He was initially hired to work at the front desk as an administrative assistant but quickly demonstrated his ability to take on greater responsibility. Being the descendant of two grandfathers who served in the Navy during WWII, and the son of a Marine veteran, Dan always held an interest in the military community. However, his passion quickly grew as he became more familiar with the foundation’s outreach efforts. Only months after he was hired, Dan found his home in Veteran’s Outreach and now manages and supports the foundation’s interactions with America’s military heroes and first responders.
Dan is originally from Joliet, Illinois but moved to Beaumont, Texas where he finished high school. He followed his passion for sports and live events and enrolled in the Sports Broadcasting Program at Texas Christian University. His time at TCU included internships with the Washington Redskins and the Orange Bowl. Following graduation, Dan worked with Fox Sports as a media specialist but discovered that he was driven to serve others in need. When the opportunity presented itself to join the Gary Sinise Foundation, Dan packed up and moved to Los Angeles without hesitation.
